The NHS will be under considerable strain in the coming weeks ahead.
Together, it is our responsibility to do everything we can to reduce contact between people to slow the spread of this virus and save lives.
TELEPHONE CONSULT SERVICE TO START MONDAY 30TH MARCH
Things keep changing rapidly, but it looks like we will be in lockdown for a few more weeks at least. We continue to have a dedicated although reduced team of vets and nurses here at Castle Vets to care for your poorly pets during these difficult times. There are some conditions that may not be an immediate emergency, but cannot be left for too long without them beginning to affect the welfare of your pet. Therefore we will be offering telephone consultations from Monday 30th March, so that we continue to provide a service to you, and the less urgent issues can be addressed as we continue through this period of lockdown.
Please phone the surgery on 01566 772211 and you will be made an appointment time for the Vet to call you to discuss your pet’s problem.
There will be two ways for the consult to happen:
1. If you have a Smartphone and use WhatsApp then please confirm we have the correct mobile number for you and the vet will video call you using WhatsApp.
2. If you do not wish to use WhatsApp then please confirm the phone number you wish the vet to call you on. You may be asked to send a photo or video if you can to help the Vet with diagnosing the problem or prescribing a treatment (or send them in advance if you think they will be useful). The email address will be given to you but follows the pattern firstname.lastname@example.org.
There will be a reduced 1st consultation charge of £21.50 for this service, followed by £15 for subsequent consultations for the same problem. Please note that if the Vet decides that the problem requires your pet to be seen at the surgery, the regular consultation charge will apply and the telephone charge will be waived.
It is critical that we practice social distancing as much as possible – therefore, if your pet must come to the surgery, one of our team will come to the carpark to take them from you and examine them in the surgery while you wait in the carpark or at home. They will then discuss their findings over the phone with you before delivering your pet back to you in the carpark. Payment should be made over the phone.
PLEASE KEEP YOUR DISTANCE FROM ANY OTHER CLIENTS WHO ARE WAITING IN THE CARPARK.
We are so very lucky to have an amazing team of staff at Castle Vets who are pulling together, and keeping each other going during this really challenging time. Please call us with any concerns you have and we will do everything we can to be here for your pets during the duration of this pandemic.
