Dear Pet Owner
We continue to closely monitor the level of services that we can offer to you, whilst working within current Government guidelines to enable us to give the best care to your pet during these continuing hard times.
Our priority highly remains to be with the welfare of your pets, you and our staff.
Out of Hours Emergency Service
Our Out of Hours emergency line remains unchanged, so please call our normal number 01566 772211 which will connect you.
We are pleased to be able to amend our previous restricted opening hours to the following:
Mon – Fri 8.30 to 6.00
Sat: 8.30 to 3.00
We are here for you
If your pet needs to come to the surgery, please book your appointment over the telephone. When you come to the surgery, please arrive no more than 15 mins before your appointment as we only have a limited number of parking bays. Please park within a coned bay and let our reception team member at the marquee know that you have arrived. One of our team will then come to the car park to collect and discuss your pet, they will then be brought into the surgery for examination whilst you wait in the carpark. They will then bring your pet back to you and discuss their findings with you. Please respect a 2m distance from other people at all times.
The reception point in the marquee is based at the entrance of our Pet Reception in order for you to book in, make your next appointment and to make payment for your consultation, medication or surgery.
It continues to be important to treat your pet regularly for parasites like ticks, fleas and worms. These parasites continue to find ways into your home and can disrupt you and your pets’ daily lives. We have now restarted sending out reminders to you in the normal manner, but please do call us on 01566 772211 if you are unsure if your pets’ treatment is due.
If you need to order tick, flea and worm treatment please go to our pet owner section of the website and use the repeat order medication form to pre-order 2 days in advance. Upon collection, please park within the coned parking bays, and let our reception team member in the marquee know that you have arrived to collect the treatment.
Alternatively we can still offer to post these to you. This will cost £4.50 for postage and packaging. All products, if you are not already a Castle Care Club member, including postage, needs to be paid for over the phone prior to collection.
We are pleased to inform you that inline with the recommendations from The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons we are now able to carry out all vaccinations for your pets. We have restarted sending out vaccination reminders to you.
All cat, dog and rabbit neutering has recommenced, if you wish to book your pet in for surgery, please call the practice for advice on your pet.
We want to thank all of our clients who have been to the practice for their support during this pandemic, and by continuing to abide by the government guidelines have helped us to continue to look after the welfare of your pets.

Dear Pet Owner,
Rest assured our team will continue to provide a full service for emergencies and urgent problems to all our clients’ pets and you should contact reception on 01566 772211 in the usual manner. We will be following the Government’s advice but please be assured that the welfare of your pets, you and our staff remains the top priority.

Please always call 01566 772211 before you visit our practice, so we can advise you of the best option for you and your pet.
We are here to help should you need us
Consults can now be carried out by phone or WhatsApp video calls (if that works best for you). You may be asked to send a photo or video if you can to help the Vet diagnose the problem. There is a reduced cost for this of £21.50. Payments should be made over the phone by card.
If your pet must come to the surgery, only one person should come with your pet. One of our team will come to the carpark to collect and examine them in the surgery while you wait in the car park or at home. They will then discuss their findings over the phone with you before delivering your pet back to you in the carpark. Please respect a 2m distance from other people at all times.
During this difficult time, it is still important to continue to treat your pet regularly for parasites like ticks, fleas and worms. Due to a reduction in staff numbers, we are not able to send out treatment reminders during this lockdown period. Please call us on 01566 772211 if you are not sure when your pet is due treatment, or if you require a replenishment and we will advise what is required.
If you are already on an essential journey, you are able to collect tick, flea and worm treatment from the practice. Please call the practice on arrival and wait outside, you will be able to collect these from the front door so we can all respect a 2m distance.

We have been advised by The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons not to carry out annual vaccinations for dogs and cats at this point in time. However, we will complete vaccination courses. We are also doing annual rabbit vaccinations as fatal rabbit diseases are common in this area. We are assessing whether neutering is justifiable at this time on a case by case basis. If you wish to have your pet neutered, please call 01566 772211 to discuss your situation and we will advise accordingly.
We are so very lucky to have an amazing team of staff at Castle Vets who are pulling together and keeping each other going during this really challenging time.
