24 Hour Emergency Vet Services are provided by Castle Vets in Launceston
If your pet needs out-of-hours emergency vet care now please call 01566 772211 immediately.
When it comes to out-of-hours care, what happens to your pet is often critical and something you should be aware of just in case the situation arises.
1: Is the service local or do you send it to an emergency vet service somewhere else?
When you have an emergency and the practice is closed, it can often be vital to get help as soon as possible without having to drive to an unknown location out of the area.
All of Castle Vets out-of-hours care is based at the vet practice in Launceston
so you don’t need to spend an hour in the car or try to find a particular address whilst already stressed.
2: Who will help me?!
We think it’s important that all our clients get consistent care, and that was one of the reasons we offer a full response service day or night.
We have three vets and a nurse available for out-of-hours vet treatment, seven days a week.
Your pet will be given the help it needs in a familiar environment, and by people, they may well know and who have all their history to hand.
3: Do I just turn up any time?
We have a different way of running the practice out of hours and don’t have people on reception when the practice is closed.
If you need help out of normal hours, call us on 01566 772211.
Our staff will provide advice over the phone and advise whether you need to come in for an emergency appointment.
4: What happens if my pet then needs treatment as well as an emergency consultation?
Where will they need to go?
We think unnecessary travel in stressful situations is best avoided, so are available to consult and treat in Launceston 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Some other out-of-hours vet services use a local healthcare professional to triage your pet, but if surgery or treatment is required they’ll need to travel to the nearest available centre which might be quite a big round trip and delay essential care. This works but isn’t always ideal if it’s an emergency.
